MUSIC icon Tina Turner has reportedly died of natural causes after a long illness.

Turner (83) died on Wednesday at her home in Kusnach near Zurich. Switzerlandrevealed her team.

The legendary singer died after a long, unspecified illness, a representative revealed The Daily Mail.

Tina’s team announced her death on Wednesday, saying: “With her, the world loses a music legend and a role model.

“Tina Turner was born Anna Mae Bullock on November 26, 1939, in Nutbush, Tennessee, USA. She became famous in the late 60s as the singer of the group Ike & Tina Turner Revue, but later she became successful worldwide as ‘ a solo artist.

“With her music and her inexhaustible vitality, Tina Turner thrilled millions of fans and inspired many artists of subsequent generations.

“Global hits like ‘What’s Love Got To Do With it’, ‘Private Dancer’ and ‘The Best’, more than 180 million albums sold, 12 Grammy Awards, and more than three decades of sold-out stadium tours around the world are just part of her unique legacy.”

Several entertainers along with Tina also commemorated her life.

Robbie Montgomery – a member of The Ikettes, a female backing trio who toured the world for Ike and Tina Turner in their heyday – mourned her death in an interview with The Sun.

“Tina Turner was a true legend and an incredible woman who left an indelible mark on the world,” she said.

“I am sad, but I will forever cherish the memories we shared and the moments we spent together.”

Montgomery added that Tina’s music will continue to uplift listeners for generations.

“My deepest condolences to her millions of fans around the world. Rest in peace, my dear Ann,” Montgomery said.

“You will be deeply missed. I will never forget our times together.”
