Sam Smith fans heartbroken as singer cancels MORE gigs amid doctor’s warnings
Sam Smith was forced to cancel more performances after doctor’s warnings.
The Unholy singer, 31, was performing on stage at the AO Arena in Manchester when the crowd were ordered to leave after just four songs.
Moments earlier, Sam, 31, belted out their 2017 hit Too Good at Goodbyes before ticket-holders heard over a stadium tanoy that the show had been abruptly cancelled.
This is the third gig Sam has canceled on their Gloria tour due to ill health – they canceled two shows last month, one in Glasgow and one in Birmingham.
Sam has since issued a new statement – revealing more gigs have been canceled as the singer recovers from a “vocal cord injury”.
It read: “Due to vocal issues during last night’s Manchester gig, we will unfortunately be canceling the rescheduled Birmingham and Glasgow Sam Smith shows.

“Refunds will be available at the point of purchase for all three dates: Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow.
A spokesperson said: ‘Doctors have advised that due to a vocal cord injury, Sam needs complete vocal rest.
“Sam is sad to have to cancel these shows, but doctors have told them that if they continue to sing, they will do permanent damage to their voices.
“If they rest, they will be able to perform again.”
Many fans took to social media to send their well-being messages to the star.
One wrote: “Wish Sam Smith the best in recovering from their vocal injury.”
Another posted: “Gutted Sam Smith concert canceled tonight but I hope they get well soon.”
Someone else said: “I had tickets for a face to face album signing which was canceled and now two shows have been canceled too! More upset for my daughter who is a young carer, this was her Christmas present.”
This fan added: “I understand people are upset but Sam Smith is not a robot, do you expect a vocal artist to continue singing if their vocals are not in good shape to perform MID concert don’t perform… Sam made the right call, I It would be p***** for a lackluster performance than a canceled one to be honest.”
Last night, videos began circulating online that appeared to show the arena plunging into darkness as thousands of disappointed fans streamed out of various exits.
Sam issued a statement shortly after, writing on Instagram: “Dear sailors, I honestly don’t know what to say.
“I fought a virus a few weeks ago and since then we’ve been touring Europe and doing such amazing shows.
“Today at soundcheck I felt great and was so excited to give Manchester a great show tonight, with a special surprise at the end.
“During my third song I noticed something wrong with my voice. I prayed it was just my voice waking up for the show, but in the fourth song I could feel something was really wrong.
“I came off the stage and tried everything to get my voice back in gear, but it won’t.

“I’m honestly sad I couldn’t finish the show tonight for all of you.
“I love you all. I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m sorry.”
