Playboy Mansion chef says Hugh Hefner ate the same meal every day for four years
A Playboy Mansion cook claimed that founder Hugh Hefner ate the same meal every day for four years.
While some foodies may be disgusted by this, others may say that eating the same food every day is sheer genius.
After working as a chef for Hugh Hefner before he passed in 2017, JJ Reinhart revealed what went on behind the kitchen – which operated 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
And while the Playboy mansion is known more for its models and wild parties than for its five-star dining and outstanding chefs, it turns out that behind the walls lies one incredibly sophisticated kitchen.
So here’s exactly what the Playboy mogul enjoyed eating…
Hugh Hefner liked things prepared in a very specific way, his chef claims, recalling the time Mr. Hefner requested the chef to cut a sandwich in a specific way

Mr Reinhart revealed that he started in the kitchen in 2002 as an intern during his early 20s.
But pretty quickly he rose through the ranks to become Chef de Cuisine at the Hefner-run house.
He was among nine chefs who worked full-time in the mansion, cooking anything and everything guests desired. They also catered for the founder’s private lunches, large dinners or extravagant and flamboyant parties.
And during his eight years at the mansion, Chef Reinhart became familiar with Mr. Hefner’s eating habits and favorite foods.
Despite the Playboy founder’s wealth, Mr Reinhart revealed Mr Hefner liked to have simple dishes made for him.
He would choose his meals from a ‘standard menu’ of just 26 items, UniLad revealed.
The chef remembered that for at least years the tycoon had the same meal for breakfast every day.
And for those so keen to find out what it is, Mr Reinhart revealed it was a ‘very, very simple English muffin’.
That was until one day Mr. Hefner requested that he make scrambled eggs on top of it.

Mr Reinhart opened up about this sudden change, saying: ‘I’m like, okay, you’ve been eating the same thing for the four years I’ve been here and now you want it, fine, that’s fine.
“So we make some scrambled eggs.”
The chef added that this change of heart was unusual in the Playboy kitchen, as the items on Mr Hefner’s menu were not ‘very extravagant’.
He also revealed that the former editor-in-chief liked things prepared in a very specific way, recalling the time Mr Henfer requested the chef to cut a sandwich in a specific way.
Mr Reinhart also revealed that the tycoon was a very ‘private eater’ who had his meals delivered to him in his bedroom.
Thanksgiving, however, was the only time he ate with others in the mansion.
And even when he went out, Hef still ate a home-cooked meal.
Mr Reinhart said: ‘If he went out to eat, we prepared his food for him and sent it with him.
“And when he showed up at a restaurant, a big paper bag went right into the kitchen with specific instructions on how to prepare his meal, how to plate his meal.”
The seasoned chef added that he really enjoyed working for Mr Hefner and didn’t mind his requests, adding: ‘He was such a good boss that we did things like this because we knew it was his expectation, but it was never a problem for us to do it for him.’
