Peter Do toasted his first collection for Helmut Lang with a late night party at Boom at The Standard on Friday night. Many of his front row guests came out to help the designer celebrate his debut, including Eric Nam, Girls’ Generation singer Tiffany Young (who came with a bodyguard in tow), “Beef” star Young Mazino, Nancy Jewel McDonie of Momoland, former NMIXX singer Jini Choi, Taylour Paige, Thao Nguyen, and designer Marc Bouwer. Do, the man of the hour, arrived shortly after midnight.

“I thought it was beautiful, powerful, emotional, fun. But also very elegant and refined, so there was a lot of different feelings and emotions at once,” said Nam of the designer’s show earlier that day. The singer was also celebrating a launch of his own, the release of his new album “House on a Hill.” “I have a launch party tomorrow in L.A. and then going back to Korea,” he said. “It’s been great, people are loving it, I’m feeling good about it. [It’s great] to be here at a party with Helmut Lang and Samsung to have a good time and celebrate as well.”

Mazino already had his eye on a few looks from the show.

“Some of the fits I couldn’t help but record on my phone because I wanted to perhaps acquire them,” said Mazino. “Towards the end of the show they had this really brilliant pathway that all the models were walking, where they were kind of intertwining with each other, crisscrossing — it felt very nostalgic of a Thursday afternoon on a lunch break walking through Flatiron. So it felt very real, visceral, very chic,” he added, and also lauded Do’s collaboration with poet and novelist Ocean Vuong, which opened the show.

Mazino is planning to attend a few more shows, and will take to the runway himself later in the week.

“I have Hermes at the end of Fashion week, but actually I’ll be walking,” he said, adding that it will be in fact his second time down the runway after walking for a show while in college. “When I got to the end of the runway my legs were like” — Mazino turned his feet slightly inward — “So I’m going to have to brush up on my walking.”

Samsung sponsored the party, and Choi and McDonie took turns posing in front of the venue’s mirrored entryway with a folding phone in hand — servers carried platters of the phones throughout the venue, which displayed a QR code that led to a landing page of party photos.

“It’s[my] first time at New York Fashion Week,” said Jini, through a translator. “The show was incredible and [I] saw a variety of different clothing from Peter.” The singer also teased the upcoming release of new music as a solo artist. “There’s good news coming very, very soon — so look out for it.”
