Martha Stewart Celebrated Her SI Swim Cover in One of Kate Middleton’s Favorite Designers
What do Martha Stewart and Kate Middleton have in common? Aside from the obvious – fame, fortune, a signature image – it seems the unlikely duo share a favorite evening-wear designer, Jenny Packham.
Stewart celebrated her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover on Thursday, May 18 at the launch event in New York City. The 81-year-old, who understood she was the star of the night, wore a long-sleeve beaded Jenny Packham dress in a look-at-me shade: gold.
She kept the rest of her look simple and unbranded, with her understated shoulder-length blonde bob and a glowing, sun-kissed ‘do.
For a keen observer of all things royal Fashion like myself, the look was instantly recognizable – in 2021 the Princess of Wales wore a version of the same dress to the world premiere of the James Bond film No time to die.
Middleton’s dress featured a hood rather than long bell sleeves, with sheets of gold beading cascading down the back, but the V-neckline and cinched waist are unmistakably the same Jenny Packham design.
