Kate Winslet and Mia Threapleton Do Mother-Daughter Style on the Red Carpet
The BAFTA TV Awards were a family affair for Kate Winslet and her daughter, Mia Threapleton. The pair, who both star in Channel 4’s emotional drama I am Ruth, posed together on the red carpet before the ceremony: Kate, in a one-shoulder black dress and Mia, in a two-tone halter neck jumpsuit.
The 22-year-old up-and-coming talent looked the spitting image of her famous mother – she channeled the pared-down style she’s made her signature on the red carpet throughout her career and both sported similar hairstyles.

Kate bagged the trophy for the leading actress for her electrifying performance in I am Ruth, which examines mental health crises among teenagers in relation to social media, while the film directed by Dominic Savage won the “single drama” category. The entire cast took to the stage at the Royal Festival Hall to collect the award and Kate gave a heartfelt speech where she said: “If I could break it in half I would give the other half to my daughter yeah, we did it together, kid.”
“It was a very special experience … as a mother and daughter. I was given new things about my own child to respect and admire,” Kate Winslet previously told British Vogue to act with her real firstborn. “I wanted to cover areas of motherhood and motherhood that can be incredibly challenging and lonely at times.” The actor also revealed that “everything” was improvised: “There was no script… Every single word that came out of our mouths we made up on the day.”
