Kate Middleton Dons Classic Coat Dress to Honor Queen Elizabeth II – celebritiestalks
Catherine, Princess of Wales, best known as Kate Middleton, arrived at St. Davids Cathedral in Pembrokeshire, Wales, on Friday to commemorate the life of the late Queen Elizabeth II, who died exactly one year ago.
The Princess of Wales wore a burgundy coat dress from Eponine London, paired with a matching bow-topped hat. She coordinated the dress and hat with cranberry suede pumps. Middleton used a Mulberry Bayswater wallet as a clutch, and honored the late Queen Elizabeth II by wearing a pair of her pearl earrings.

Pembrokeshire is the U.K.’s smallest city. As part of the commemoration events and service, Middleton and her husband Prince William, whom she accompanied to the event, met with people who had met Queen Elizabeth II before.

One of the quire stalls at the St. Davids Cathedral, known as the Sovereign’s Stall, has been in possession of the Crown since the Protestant Reformation swept through Europe in the 1500s. This makes St. Davids the only cathedral in the U.K. where the monarch has a special stall in the quire.
In August 1955, when Queen Elizabeth visited the stall with her husband the late Duke of Edinburgh, she became the first monarch to visit the monument since the Reformation.
