PALATIAL ROAD
Tina and Erwin lived in a $76 million mansion in Switzerland.
The house was protected by a large gate and had a plaque outside that read: “Don’t even think about bothering Tina Turner before noon.”
She and Erwin bought the house almost two years ago, according to them The New York Post.
They rented another property before making the purchase while they waited to obtain their citizenship.
A month before they bought the expensive book, Tina sold her music catalog to BMG – a German music company – for a whopping $50 million.
The house features 10 different structures and overlooks Lake Zurich.
Swiss news reports suggested that Roger Federer considered buying the property at one point, but chose to buy another home in the same community.
Tina’s mansion, where she spent her last days, spans over 240,000 square feet.
The property includes a private pond, stream, pool and boat deck.
The house stretches over five acres of land.
Tina and Erwin also owned another property in Kusnacht.
WHY THE MOVE?
In 1997, the What’s Love Got to Do With It? singer said during an interview with the late Larry King that he left America.
She blamed her stardom for her decision to leave the country, saying at the time: “I left America because my success was in another country and my boyfriend was in another country.”
Tina continued: “Basically, Europe has been very supportive of my music.”
The Tennessee native added: “My boyfriend moved there to run the company and I always wanted to go to Switzerland and I was very happy.”
Tina’s boyfriend Erwin is originally from Germany.
