ANT McPartlin is one half of the UK’s best-loved duo, along with his best friend, Declan Donnelly.

It has been announced that the pair will be stepping down from the popular show Saturday Night Takeaway in May 2023. Here’s what we know.

How much is Ant McPartlin worth?

Ant’s net worth is estimated to be over £60 million, and his presenting partner, Dec Donnelly, is believed to be worth a similar amount.

However, in 2019 he lost huge amounts of money due to his drinking scandal, which cost him £1.6m in 2018 and his £31m divorce settlement from ex-wife Lisa Armstrong.

In 2023, the pair signed a new three-year deal with ITV, worth more than £30m.

It’s a long way from Byker Grove where they reportedly earned £100 a day.

What TV shows did Ant host with Declan Donnelly?

Although not a presenting role, it was Ant’s big break as PJ on Byker Grove.

It was during his time on this show that he developed his all-important friendship with Declan Donnelly.

I worked on the program from 1990 to 1993.

The pair later switched to music and scored a UK top 10 hit with Let’s Get Ready To Rhumble, under the name PJ and Duncan.

Children’s TV and game shows

In 1994 the pair started presenting the children’s show Gimme 5 on CITV which ran for two seasons.

However, this was clearly not the end as they started a new show the following year called The Ant & Dec show.

The sketch show won them two Bafta awards and a VHS in-store release of the best bits.

Ant and Dec became Saturday morning favorites while hosting SMTV Live in 1997, before eventually branching out into game shows such as Friends Like These, PokerFace and Push the Button.

They left children’s TV for good in 2001.

Long-term presenters

Friends Like These was their first primetime slot and solidified their position as presenters.

They took off on ITV’s Pop Idol but had to leave SMTV behind due to the success.

However, Pop Idol was replaced by the X Factor in 2004 which meant they had to move on to something new.

That opportunity came for ITV’s 50th anniversary to host Ant & Dec’s Gameshow Marathon, which was a variety of game shows all hosted by the pair.

In 2002, they started offering Saturday Night Takeaway, which they created themselves.

That year also saw the rise of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! with the highest ratings peaking in 2004.

Both shows are still much loved and are renewed every year with the duo at the helm.

Completing the great trio of shows, the pair began presenting Britain’s Got Talent in 2007.

Since then, they’ve done smaller shows around these key projects, such as Ant and Dec’s DNA Journey, which revealed an ancestral connection.

The pair also hosted The Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebration and some short-lived game shows.

On 18 May 2023, the duo announced their departure from Saturday Night Takeaway, in a video released on their joint Instagram account.

They did reveal that they would make one more series in 2024 before leaving the show.

In the video, Ant said: “We love doing Saturday Night Takeaway, but reaching the 20 series milestone seemed like the perfect time to stop for a while and catch our breath.”

Des added: “We still have an important 20th series to look forward to, so we will do our best to go out with a bang (for now) in 2024.”

Who is Ant’s wife Anne-Marie Corbett?

After the divorce, Lisa Armstrong, Ant was then seen with his partner Anne-Marie Corbett in March 2018 when she sent him to work with lunch.

The couple then married on 7 August 2021, and Anne-Marie even flew to Australia for a spell while Ant was filming I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2019.

Anne-Marie worked as Ant’s personal assistant in 2017.

They have no children together but Anne-Marie has two children from her previous marriage.
