Harry Potter rich list and what cast spent it on – from multi-million pound fortune to bizarre buys
HARRY Potter stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint have a combined magical fortune of £202 million.
Daniel, 33, is now worth £92m, while Emma, 33, who played Hermione Granger and starred in Beauty and the Beast, is sitting pretty with £60m.
JK Rowling – who shot to fame in five years from the perks of being a multi-millionaire – is now worth a staggering £875million.
Meanwhile, Rupert used some of his movie fortune to splurge on a very bizarre purchase.
JK Rowling
In 2023, the Sunday Times Rich List estimated the author to be worth £875 million, making her the 191st richest person in the UK.
Bloomsbury, Rowling’s publisher, reported that sales of the magical adventures rose by 35 percent in the first half of 2022.

In 2012, the author was famously dropped from the Forbes billionaire list after donating so much to charity. She is believed to have given away $160m (£120m) in that year alone.
But since then she has continued to make more money thanks to the Pottermore website, the Harry Potter theme park, the play and various merchandise.
And she has now returned to her former position as the world’s richest writer after making £72.3m in 2018 – equivalent to £137 a minute.
Her newfound prominence is likely to be largely due to her release of the manuscript of her play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which sold 680,000 print copies in its first three days in the UK.
Although Rowling’s delighted fans over the years with her Harry Potter franchise, she recently left many divided when she received backlash, and even death threats, for her comments on trans rights.
The Harry Potter author questioned women’s safety in locker rooms in 2020.
She was accused of transphobia in 2020 when she responded to an article with the headline: “Opinion: Creating a more equal post-Covid-19 world for people who menstruate.”
She tweeted: “‘People who menstruate’. I’m sure there used to be a word for those people. Somebody help me out. Wumben? Wimpund? Woomud?”
Several people hit back to show that it’s not just women who were born who menstruate.
Daniel Radcliffe
The Harry Potter star has conjured up a successful film career and a £45m stock portfolio.
Gilmore Jacobs, a company founded by Radcliffe’s parents, shows £92m of wealth on its balance sheet.
This makes him the 18th richest under-35 in the UK, according to The Sunday Times.
Just last month, the star confirmed that he welcomed his first child with long-term partner Erin Darke into the world.
The couple, who met on the set of the 2013 film Kill Your Darlings, announced they were expecting in March.
Daniel, whose other film roles include 2012 horror The Woman In Black and 2016 surreal comedy Swiss Army Man, splits his time between the UK and the US, alongside Erin.
Rupert grinned
Ron Weasley actor Rupert, 34, is estimated to be worth an eye-watering £50million.
He runs a £23m TV business called Clay 10 as well as a property empire with his father Nigel, according to the Showbiz/harry-potter-rupert-grints-net-26960772″ target=”_blank” aria-label=”Daily Star (opens in a new tab)” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Daily Star.
Last year’s accounts showed it was worth £23.45m – £2.3m more than the previous year – and boasted more than £8m in cash assets.
Rupert has raised millions from shrewd investments – with his property development business Oneonesix building family homes in Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire.
The actor may live the life of luxury, but every now and then he enjoys the simpler things in life.
Last year, he bought an ice cream van, which wasn’t a surprise since he wanted to be an ice cream manager before landing his role in the wizarding franchise.
Emma Watson
Emma is the 24th richest 35-year-old celebrity in the UK.
She is worth around £60m thanks to her film roles, new Gin brand and investment firm.
The actress first rose to fame when she was just 11 in the franchise.
The 33-year-old is one of the world’s most recognized stars and has also had leading roles in Little Women and Beauty and the Beast.
Meanwhile, Hestia Hebe, her investment company, shows wealth of £23.2m.

She has also just launched a gin brand with her brother Alex.
And it doesn’t stop there, Emma also has a £2.6 million house in London.
